Licensing Reviews
There are unfortunately times where licensed premises come to the notice of the authorities for the wrong reasons. Whether it be for selling under age or failing to comply with the conditions of the premises licence. A possible outcome is a review of the licence.
In such circumstances the licensing authority will convene a hearing, whereby the responsible authority such as the police, environmental health, trading standards and the public, can make representations and call for the licensee to be reviewed.
The local authority licensing committee will preside over the hearing and decide on what sanctions, if any, should be taken against the licensee, the staff or the premises. This can be an extremely stressful time for the licensee, with the threat of losing your premises licence a reality.
With extensive experience in representation at such hearings our licensing team will offer support and do all they can to minimise the disruption to your business. You will be represented throughout the process and, where appropriate, through to any appeal procedure that may be required.
